The cycling season had started when we had planned an appointment with Team Sunweb. The logistical centre is situated in Deventer. There, all the bicycles are returned to after the matches, are checked and repaired and prepared for the next course if necessary. Marko Hartmann is responsible for matters concerning property and thus also for the new building (1372 m2 office and hall on a 2844 m2 lot) on the A1 industrial site, where Team Sunweb will be situated in early 2019.

Cycling season
For Team Sunweb, CEO Iwan Spekenbrink and 125 employees, the preparation for the new season starts in August already. A planning in which the sportive individual and team results are analysed and used for the following season. In addition, the commercial, financial and partners’ objectives are determined. Team Sunweb puts everything at the disposal of its top athletes, so they are fully equipped for the new season.

‘Keep challenging’
Keep challenging and renewing yourself, so you can make your dreams come true. A job, a top sport business model, with which Team Sunweb supports and coaches its top athletes. You can only achieve success by team work, in which all athletes, experts, coaches and staff work together to achieve the very best in the broadest sense, 365 days a year. Team Sunweb’s DNA is strengthened by two divisions. Success has been achieved by, among others:

-              men: Tom Dumoulin, Wilco Kelderman, Sam Oomen, Michael Matthews.
-              women: Ellen van Dijk, Lucinda Brand and Coryn Rivera.

Facilities
In the future, the cyclists of the Sunweb Development team and a part of Team Sunweb’s women’s program will be transferred to the Keep Challenging Center in Sittard. Near good training facilities and airports, so they can easily travel to competitions in Europe. This facility contributes to the collaboration and progress in order to develop into a real team sport.

Partners
Because of a good mix of young talent and experienced cyclists, Team Sunweb collaborates with several different partners. Hartmann: “Team Sunweb is always looking for long-term relationships with partners, so we can grow together and possibly make use of each other’s expertise.” Keep challenging yourself! A beautiful motto for all partners and Team Sunweb in order to excel in the Amstel Goldrace, Giro, Tour de France and Vuelta!
